In this Q&A we talked to Shiri Shalmy, one of the founders of Cooperation Town, a network of community-led food co-ops. She explains Cooperation Town’s principle of ‘solidarity, not charity’: a move towards a sustainable and self-organised solution to food poverty, as well as other crises under capitalism – job insecurity, unaffordable childcare, and a mental health crisis.
